NFL Hook-Up

I was talking with my family this weekend about Drew Brees (QB for the Saints), because he is friends of the family and my dad coached him in high school. We started talking about his new wife and how she can about. The rumor has is that his bride had dated around the NFL for awhile, and always had her eye on Brees, but really started to persue him when she knew he was getting a big contract deal from New Orleans. His family didn't like the fact that they were getting married because they knew what was up, but couldn't do anything about it. Well it got me thinking again on the whole Marriages within Sports. Does this woman really love Drew for him or his bank account? He will never know until it is too late. That's why i think that when you date someone, and you are well off, don't let them know about your cash until you think the time is right. Do other relationships within professional sports start and end because of money? I would like to think a lot do, i mean come on there are some ugly, tated up dudes out there who if they didn't have an 8 figure bank account they would stand no chance with a hottie, much less a model.

Hawaiian Islands

Well i just got done watching the NFL Pro Bowl which was hosted in Hawaii. Every time a commercial was about to come on, the camera would switch to some senic view of the Hawaiian islands and show a couple on the beach or under a water fall. It got me thinking why couples go to Hawaii on their hunnymoons, to get married, or just to have a get-a-way instead of picking somewhere closer to home than a 4hr. time difference. Last year Hawaii was voted the top 20 places to get married in the world, so what makes it so irresistable? Maybe it's because the scenery is awesome, or the "love vibe" you get while going there never leaves your system. It is amazing that a group of islands can lasso lovers and newlyweds and make them feel so in love more so than they do back at home.

Marriages Within The Sports World

Why do Athletes and Celeberties always marry within their own social status? If it's not two movie stars getting hitched, then it's an athlete and a movie star, an athlete and a model, or an athlete with another athlete. Tiger Woods married a model, David Beckham married a model, and Tito Ortiz is dating Pam An. Why do you never hear of an average joe getting his big break with a well known individual...except for Kevin Federline (what a joke). Maybe it's because they want their spouse to have the same kind of schedule, so they won't feel bad about leaving all the time for events or shoots, or maybe they want them to have the same bank figures so they can feel more comfortable about spending habbits. It all comes down to the media and how we perceives them as a couple.

The Cowboys NOT In The Super Bowl

I know the Super Bowl is on Sunday and everyone is upset that the Cowboys aren't going to be participating, since they lost in the 1st round against the Seahawks (or you better be upset). Tony Romo was Dallas' new Jesus Christ this season, taking over the QB job from Drew Bledsoe. I'm glad the change happened becuase that guy is old enough to be my dad still playing in the NFL. People need to have some sort of sympathy for him since this is his second time to be booted out of a starting position, and booted into holding a clipboard next to the head coach. Anyways back to Romo. I know when Tony Romo came into view and totally blew away the competition for the first 4 games, everyone that was a 'Boys fan was a Romo-sexual at one point. He lead the Cowboys single-handedly to the playoffs, not to mention having an anchor on his side with Terrell Owens holding the title of the most dropped passes in the '06-'07 season. Romo was an American icon and everyone loved, and trusted him. He started doing commercials, and then doing Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood...and thats what made him go downhill fast. Stuart Scott of Sportscenter did a little analysis on him, and ever since he started dating the two, his game went south. The fans still had faith in him to lead the team to another title since the franchise hasn't seen a ring in 11 years. It all came down to a simple snap, hold, and a kick to tie. Oh but Romo must have had Jessica on the mind at that time, fumbling the snap that would have tied the game. In a split second, his world went from people naming their 1st born Tony, to having millions look down upon him for blowing a crucial game. Football is a Love/Hate relationship, and Tony Romo got a crash course on it pretty well.
